About Me

I’m Berto Centofante, an American photographer based in California. My work sits at the intersection of documentary and lifestyle photography, where I balance commissioned assignments with personal projects that explore everyday life and culture.

I think of my photography in two parts:

  • Travel & Personal Work — often created for long-term projects, with the hope of publishing books and larger bodies of work in the future.

  • Editorial & Commissioned Work — photography made for others, adaptable for publications, campaigns, families, and businesses.

On my Commissions page, I offer a range of photography packages, from family portraits to business storytelling sessions.

I’ve also self-published two photography projects, both of which sold out:

  • To Do Nothing In Particular

  • Wait To Cross The Street: A Ryokou to Japan

I’m currently available for prints, commissions, and photography requests (including live events, campaign shoots, editorial assignments, and more). You can reach me at:

Alongside my photography, I publish a weekly newsletter, Loaf Made by Berto Centofante, where I share photo essays, reflections on travel, creativity, and process. It’s where I create some of my most personal and meaningful work.
